Frigidaire oven & range

Frigidaire ranges from Pacific Ave to the Skookumchuck

The coil-top Frigidaire electric range is the oven in a large share of the county’s rentals and older houses: 1960s ranches off Pacific Ave, apartments near Saint Martin’s, the small-town grids of Tenino and Rainier. The glass-top and the Gallery slide-in went into Tumwater remodels and newer Yelm manufactured homes. Gas versions run on natural gas mains in Olympia and on propane in the country. A Frigidaire oven is controlled by a board that reads one temperature sensor, a probe at the back of the cavity, and the board trusts it completely. When the probe drifts or opens, the oven runs cold, runs away or stops with an F-code. Elements, igniters and the door lock are most of the rest.

Out past the gas mains the local story is propane. A Frigidaire range on acreage off Old Hwy 99 near Tenino or along the Skookumchuck was often converted from natural gas by the installer, and if the orifices, regulator or air shutters were not done, the flames burn yellow and soot the bottoms of the pans. We correct those. Closer in, the trouble is power. When a windstorm takes the lines down in East Olympia or along Ruddell Rd in November, the surge on the way back leaves a Frigidaire range with a dark display and a board to replace. And a glass top in a busy Yelm kitchen cracks under a dropped pan now and then.

Frigidaire range repair, code to meter to thermometer

The Frigidaire range diagnosis reads the code, then tests the part the code names, then proves the fix with heat. An oven sensor gets an ohm reading and is compared with a thermometer in the cavity. A bake element is read for continuity and looked at for the blister that means it has failed. A gas igniter gets an amp clamp while the oven calls for heat, since an igniter can glow bright and still lack the strength to open the valve. On propane, the flame color and the orifices come first. The van carries Frigidaire oven sensors, bake and broil elements, coil elements and receptacles, infinite switches, igniters, spark modules and lock assemblies. Boards are often ordered, and the second trip to fit one costs nothing.

Our shop in Lacey is independent, not Frigidaire’s or Electrolux’s service arm. A range young enough for the maker’s coverage to apply gets flagged by us up front, before any money changes hands. Rental owners on Old Hwy 99 in Tenino, or near Saint Martin’s, approve the written number by phone or email and later open an email holding the invoice and warranty. Approve the repair and it is priced as one figure, and the visit fee you already paid for the diagnosis is not charged again; decline it and that fee ends the matter, with the range left safe. Every Frigidaire range repair is priced after the diagnosis, in writing, as a single number.

Frigidaire oven & range questions

What does F30 mean on my Frigidaire oven in Tenino?

The oven sensor, a probe at the back of the cavity, reads open, so the board does not know the temperature and stops. It is nearly always the sensor itself, sometimes its plug. We carry the sensor and the repair is done the same visit. Tenino is inside our ring with no mileage charge.

Can you fix a Frigidaire range on propane in Rainier?

Yes. Rainier and the acreage around it run on propane, and we see Frigidaire ranges converted in a hurry that burn yellow. We set the regulator, fit the right orifices and adjust the burners until the flame is blue. If the conversion parts are missing, we order them and return without adding a charge.

Is F10 on a Frigidaire range dangerous?

F10 means the oven got too hot and the board shut it down. The board did its job. Do not reset it and keep cooking; the cause, a sensor reading low or a stuck relay, is still there. We find which, replace it, and prove the oven holds temperature before we leave.

Do you repair Frigidaire ranges in Lacey rentals?

Yes, plenty of them. The coil-top Frigidaire is the rental range along Pacific Ave and near Saint Martin’s. The van holds elements, receptacles and sensors. Whoever lives there lets the technician in, and the owner receives the number by phone or email, decides from wherever they are, and receives the paperwork afterward.

What does Frigidaire oven repair run in Olympia?

Diagnosis carries the same visit fee in Olympia and everywhere we go, and dispatch names it when you book. Once it is done the technician writes one repair number, and if you proceed that number is the whole invoice; the visit fee is not a second line. We do not give repair prices over the phone because a sensor and a control board are different jobs.

How a visit runs

From the first phone call to the last test cycle

  1. You reach out

Dispatch picks a two-hour slot with you, most often today or tomorrow, and calls again once the van rolls away from the shop on Marvin Rd.

  2. Measure first

An amp clamp, thermometer or ohmmeter goes on the machine before anyone says what is wrong. Then the dead part gets named in words anyone can follow.

  3. The number, written

Repair cost goes on the ticket as one total with the visit fee already baked in. Say yes or say no; nobody bills by the hour while you think.

  4. Repair on the spot

Pumps, valves, heaters, igniters, rollers and boards for the usual models travel in the bins behind the driver, which closes most jobs on that first stop. A part on order means a second trip at no added charge.

  5. Test and paperwork

You watch a full cycle run, the floor and panels are left as we found them, and an emailed invoice carries the written warranty term.

Frigidaire oven & range trouble: one call, one written price.

One call sets a two-hour window. The technician arrives with a meter, the fix is priced on the ticket with the visit fee already tucked into it, and the invoice spells out the warranty. Yelm and Ruddell Rd get identical terms.
