Bosch in the remodeled kitchens of Olympia
Bosch came into this county through kitchen remodels rather than builder packages. The quiet dishwasher with the hidden controls went into the 1920s Craftsman kitchens of South Capitol and the Bigelow Highlands, the view houses off Cooper Point Rd and the condos downtown near Percival Landing. The compact 24-inch Bosch washer and dryer pair sits in closets in those same condos and in the small houses on the Steilacoom bluff. Bosch ranges and refrigerators are rarer here. The dishwasher design is thorough: a flood float in the bottom pan, a flow sensor on the fill, a heat pump in the sump, a filter system that expects to be cleaned. Ignore the filter and the machine tells you about it.
Bosch dishwashers are sensitive to what runs through them, and here that is hard groundwater. Lacey and Olympia water coats the heater and chokes the fill; the wells around Black Lake, Boston Harbor and the west-side peninsulas do it faster and add iron. A softener out of salt shows on the glassware within a week. The compact washers live in condos with old drain plumbing, and an E18 drain code downtown is as often the standpipe as the pump. Windstorm outages in November take out the occasional Bosch control module, and the bottom-pan float that stops a leaking dishwasher in a South Capitol basement kitchen is doing exactly what it was built for.
Bosch faults we see most
| Model type | What tends to break | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Dishwasher, 300 to 800 series | E15, water in the bottom pan from a leaking seal, hose or heat pump | Locate the leak with the side panel removed, swap the part, dry the pan and reset the float |
| Dishwasher | E24 or E22, water left in the tub; filter packed or the drain pump blocked | Clear the filter and the pump impeller, replace the pump when it is weak, check the drain loop |
| Dishwasher | Heat pump fails so dishes stay wet and cold; E09 | Test the heater circuit, replace the heat pump, confirm the water heats |
| Compact front-load washer | E18, stuck full of water; a clogged pump filter or a dead pump | Unclog or renew the pump, inspect the condo standpipe, finish with a drain-and-spin |
| Compact washer | E17, no fill; the aquastop hose or the inlet valve has closed | Test the valve and the aquastop, replace, confirm the fill volume |
| Compact dryer | Condenser dryer stops drying; the condenser is blocked or the pump for condensate failed | Clean the condenser, replace the pump, run a full cycle |
How a Bosch appliance repair runs
A Bosch diagnosis begins with the code, because Bosch codes are more specific than most. E15 sends the technician to the bottom pan; E24 to the drain path; E09 to the heater. Then the meter confirms it. On a dishwasher the side panel comes off, the sump is inspected, the drain pump and heat pump are tested and the flow sensor is checked. On a compact washer the pump filter is opened and the aquastop and the pressure sensor are tested. The van carries Bosch drain pumps, heat pumps, inlet valves, door seals, sump gaskets and the filter sets. Control modules and certain model-specific parts get ordered in, and coming back to fit them costs nothing.
We are a Lacey shop with no link to Bosch. We do not sell Bosch machines and we are not in their service network. If a Bosch machine still falls under the manufacturer’s coverage, expect us to raise it before any money changes hands, since that route may serve you better. Owners of downtown condos and South Capitol rentals can say yes to the written figure by phone or email, with photos, paperwork and warranty coming to them through email. Our diagnostic fee, which dispatch names when you book, becomes part of the repair total the moment you approve; refuse, and that fee is the entire invoice. Pricing follows the diagnosis, is written out as one figure, and is never given by phone.
Bosch questions
Do you repair Bosch dishwashers in Olympia?
Yes, and it is our most common Bosch call. South Capitol, the Bigelow Highlands, West Olympia and the downtown condos all have Bosch dishwashers, and E15, E24 and a heat pump that stops heating are the usual reasons we visit. The parts for those are on the van.
Are you a Bosch service partner?
No. Nisqually Appliance Service is independent and not connected to Bosch. We cannot bill Bosch for coverage repairs, and we tell you when that coverage should apply so you can use it. For anything outside of it, we do the repair ourselves.
My Bosch dishwasher in Lacey shows E15. What does that mean?
There is water in the bottom pan and the float has lifted to stop the machine. Sometimes it is a one-time overflow; often it is a slow leak from a seal, a hose or the heat pump. Tipping the dishwasher back drains the pan but does not fix the leak. We find where the water came from.
Can you work on a compact Bosch washer in a downtown condo?
Yes. The 24-inch Bosch washers in the condos near Percival Landing are ordinary work for us. Tell us about parking and the elevator in the request. Most calls are the drain pump or the aquastop, and both ride on the van.
How much does a Bosch repair cost?
Diagnosing the machine carries one set fee wherever it sits in our ring, and dispatch tells you what it is when you call. Next comes the technician's single repair number, and it has that fee baked in. We do not give repair prices by phone, because a drain pump and a control module are not the same job.

From the first phone call to the last test cycle
- You reach out
Dispatch picks a two-hour slot with you, most often today or tomorrow, and calls again once the van rolls away from the shop on Marvin Rd.
- Measure first
An amp clamp, thermometer or ohmmeter goes on the machine before anyone says what is wrong. Then the dead part gets named in words anyone can follow.
- The number, written
Repair cost goes on the ticket as one total with the visit fee already baked in. Say yes or say no; nobody bills by the hour while you think.
- Repair on the spot
Pumps, valves, heaters, igniters, rollers and boards for the usual models travel in the bins behind the driver, which closes most jobs on that first stop. A part on order means a second trip at no added charge.
- Test and paperwork
You watch a full cycle run, the floor and panels are left as we found them, and an emailed invoice carries the written warranty term.
Bosch trouble: one call, one written price.
One call sets a two-hour window. The technician arrives with a meter, the fix is priced on the ticket with the visit fee already tucked into it, and the invoice spells out the warranty. Yelm and Ruddell Rd get identical terms.
